The IOOF Cemetery is located on a hill, just on the east edge of Ellensburg. The property was purchased from Carl A Sander. The first burial date was 1882, officially, but records show burials back to 1858. It is assumed these were transferred from their original burial site. The cemetery is still in use. There are approximately 11,000 graves as of the end of December 2017. A book of grave listings (plus an update) for burials through 1992 have been published by KCGS (contact KCGS for more information).
By entering a search query users can find the grave location (Block, Lot, Row and Grave) of the deceased in the cemetery. A map of the cemetery on the website can then be used to locate the actual grave. Additionally the website includes a link to the FindAGrave website which may give additional information about the deceased individual.
